Goldman Sachs Group, Inc. (NYSE: GS) reported that its third-quarter net income dropped to $1.9 billion, or $2.98 a share, from $3.19 billion, or $5.25 a share, in the year-earlier period. Revenue declined to $8.90 billion from $12.3 billion. Analysts, on average, expected the company to report earnings of $2.28 per share on revenue of $7.92 billion.
