SAN FRANCISCO (MarketWatch) -- U.S. stocks and emerging-markets ETFs briefly rallied after hours Tuesday after Turkey's central bank hiked benchmark interest rates to 12% in an effort to stem the currency's slide to record lows. The SPDR S&P 500 ETF Trust SPY +0.68% was up 0.4% to $179.77 after briefly breaching the $180 mark. The iShares MSCI Emerging Markets ETF EEM +1.44% rallied 1.2% after hours. The iShares MSCI Turkey ETF TUR +3.55% was up 3.4% on light volume. |
